TOOK EFFECT IN 2007.
Notaries are now restricted from recording
identification numbers.
The rules regarding Texas Notaries Public changed in 2007. Notaries are no
longer required to record identification number when notarizing a person's
signature. In fact, they are now RESTRICTED from recording id. numbers. In
place of the driver's license number, passport id. number or other government
id. number, notaries are now required to simply record the type of
