January 1, 2009-
FED DECREASES MILEAGE FOR 2009
New Rate Means 3 1/2 Cents Less
Beginning January 1, 2009, the allowable deduction for business miles will be $0.55 cents
per mile (fifty-five cents per mile.) This is the same rate we use to calculate the witness fee
on federal court witness subpoenas. The current witness fee is $40.00 plus $0.55 cents per
mile, round trip for one day's appearance from the witness' residence to the place of
hearing, trial or deposition. As always, check with the ordering attorney for exact
instructions.
