IMPORTANT NEWS:
THERE'S A NEW SHERIFF IN TOWN!
New Process Server Training Courses Rival
TPSA and Commit To Use Your Money Wisely!
On September 20, 2007, the Texas Supreme Court approved two new training
courses valid for Supreme Court certification. The courses offered by Neff &
Neff Associates (N&NA) and the Process Servers Network of Texas (PSNT) are
now available for those seeking to become certified or renew an existing
certification. Profits generated by these courses will not be used to force
unnecessary and undesirable legislation on the industry.
For the last several legislative sessions, leaders of the Texas Process Servers
Association (TPSA) have used monies generated by their training course and
membership dues to pursue restrictive legislation that would negatively affect
the industry. This includes an attempt to prevent the very certification program
we all now enjoy by filing a strict and burdensome licensing bill with the 79th
Texas Legislature. When they failed to get that bill passed in 2005, certification
took effect and ever since then, the TPSA leadership has been trying to change
certification into something that is more like a license. Despite promising their
members they would never support any bill that would assess fees on the
industry, TPSA leaders filed another bill at the very next session that would have
cost the industry hundreds of thousands of dollars! Those bills were filed,
supported and promoted with profits from the TPSA's training course and plans
are already underway to file another "fees" bill at the next session in 2009. The
only reason they are able to continue pursuing their special-interest-driven
legislative goals is because of the unwitting process servers who join the TPSA
and take the association course. The two new courses now being offered by
N&NA and PSNT will help to knock the wind out of the TPSA's legislative sails.
THE TPSA LEADERSHIP IS ACTIVELY TRYING TO CHANGE THE CURRENT
THREE YEAR TRAINING TO A YEARLY REQUIREMENT! THE LEADERSHIP DID
NOT POLL THE MEMBERS AND HAVE ALREADY PETITIONED THE COURT TO
MAKE THIS AND OTHER CHANGES! If you like certification the way it is,
DON'T GIVE YOUR MONEY TO THE TPSA!
Take a TALI course, take a TCLEOSE course, or take another course. Get your
training from any source other than the TPSA!
If you are planning to become certified or renew your current certification, make
the right choice and sign up today. If your certification expires anytime in 2008,
you can take a course now and apply for renewal 90 days before your expiration
date. If you have already registered for a TPSA course, cancel your registration
and ask that your money be returned. Not giving your money to the TPSA will
be an investment in the future of the industry and your company!
